Ogallala Board of Health
Meeting
March 15, 2005
A meeting of the Ogallala Board of Health was called to order at 7:30 P.M. by Chairman Paul Foy in the City of Ogallala Administration Building, 411 East Second Street, Ogallala, Nebraska. Members present: Dr. Paul Foy, Mary Lou Heelan, Dr. Kurt Johnson, Glen Silvius and Joe Humphrey. Ogallala Police Department Code Enforcement Officer Eric Troxel in attendance.
Notice of the meeting was given in advance by publication in the Keith County News, the designated method of giving notice. Notice of the meeting was delivered to members of the Board of Health by hand delivery of an Ogallala Police Officer.
Mary Lou Heelan moved to approve the minutes of the February 15, 2005 Board of Health meeting. Humphrey seconded the motion. Voting Yes: Foy, Heelan, and Humphrey. Voting No: None. Abstain: Johnson and Silvius. Motion Carried
Public Forum: Dr. Foy opened the public forum and invited any individual wishing to speak to the board to come to the podium. Dr. Foy advised that the Public Forum would remain open for the duration of the public meeting.
Discussion of Properties, Discussion was held pertaining to Northwestern Trailer Court needing enforcement attention because of broken windows, trash and abandoned vehicles. Another property mentioned was the property on the southeast corner of the intersection of West 6th Street and West C Street.
Mary Lou Heelan moved to proceed with enforcement of Ordinance violations at Northwestern Trailer Court and a report of progress made at the April 19, 2005 Board of Health meeting. Johnson seconded the motion. Voting Yes: Foy, Heelan, Johnson, Silvius, and Humphrey. Voting No: None. Motion Carried.
Discussion was held as to the best manner to handle the population of unwanted birds that migrate to trees within the city limits and present a possible health problem associated with the large amount of droppings left by the large population of the birds.
No further business to come before the Board, Johnson moved to adjourn. Silvius seconded the motion. Voting Yes: Foy, Heelan, Johnson, Silvius, and Humphrey. Voting No: None. Motion Carried
