Results of "You Drink and Drive, You Lose"

 

The Ogallala Police recently participated in the national effort to take impaired drivers off the road which took place December 7 2007 thru January 1, 2008.

 

The “You Drink You Drive You Lose” campaign was designed to remind motorists never to get behind the wheel after drinking.

 

The Ogallala Police Department conducted special enforcement efforts that included Saturated Patrol, Enforcement Zones, Regular Patrol and other high-visibility efforts that focused on the time periods in which alcohol-related activities are considered the highest.

 

During the National Campaign Officers issued Citations several citations for Speeding, Reckless/Careless Driving, Open Alcohol Container in Vehicles and Seat Belt and Child Restraint Violations. Officers also issued Citations and written warnings for other moving traffic violations and miscellaneous vehicle violations. Officers arrested 2 People for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, 11 for Possession of Drug charges, 7 for Driving Under Suspension, and made 5 arrests for outstanding warrants. Officers also made arrests for Minor in Possession/Consumption of Alcohol.

The Ogallala Police Department wants to remind everyone that not to drink any alcohol before getting behind the wheel; “It Really Only Takes One Mistake and a Split Second to Change a Life Forever”.
