An Old Scam has Returned!

A citizen reported that their computer locked up with screenshot advising the Dept of Homeland Security had “frozen” the computer due to suspicious activity. The owner needed to send a few hundred dollars, by Moneypack, to a location which could be obtained by calling a number on the screen. The RP thought it was a scam but called to check for sure. She advised she’d neither called the number or arranged to pay and when assured it was a scam said no problem she’d just take her computer to her computer repairman.
